Lean Six Sigma Black Belts are experts at executing improvement projects. They are responsible for managing complex breakthrough projects and supporting improvement teams with tools and techniques. If an organization does not employ a Master Black Belt, the Black Belt can fill this role.
For whom
You can register for this course after you have completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training and Lean Black Belt training. The Six Sigma Black Belt upgrade training is taken by those who want to work as specialists in the application of Lean Six Sigma. This may be in the role of advanced problem solving, design and process engineering, consultant (internal/external) or as a data scientist.
Objective
After completing this course, you will be able to work on complex data-driven projects. You will learn in this Six Sigma Black Belt training some additional and advanced techniques for assessing measurement systems, analyzing data and conducting experiments. In this Six Sigma Black Belt training we will also cover the application of Six Sigma techniques in the design process of complex systems (Design for Six Sigma; QFD and DfX).
Study Load
Our rule of thumb is 8 hours of class is 8 hours of preparation and study. Thus, the study load of the Six Sigma Black Belt upgrade training is approximately 32 hours.

- Two-level Fractional Factorial experiments (DOE).

- Advanced SPC techniques (Short-run SPC and moving average).
- Design for Six Sigma (incl. DMADV roadmap)
- Design for Excellence (DFX).
- Quality Function Deployment (QFD).
- Risk analysis in the design process (Design FMEA)
- Reliability research (Hazard function, ALT & HALT)
- Techniques for Tolerance Analysis.

Minitab will be used during this Six Sigma Black Belt training (upgrade). This program is a powerful tool for visualizing and analyzing data. You will immediately experience the added value of Minitab over Excel. Symbol is a Minitab Gold partner. This means that as a Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt student, you will receive a full Minitab license at no cost for the duration of the training.

Internationally recognized certificate
Upon completion of Six Sigma Black Belt training (upgrade), you can earn an internationally recognized Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification through the LSSA (Lean Six Sigma Academy). The full exam includes a theory and a practical part. The exam for this is administered according to LSSA guidelines. The field projects are reviewed by the LSSA. You will receive a partial certificate for both elements (theory and practice). The full Lean Six Sigma certificate requires a passing grade in both the theoretical and practical parts. Symbol is a so-called ATO (Accredited Training Organization). Therefore, you can register directly with us.
