GGD Drenthe increases corona testing capacity through ‘drive-through’
On Wednesday, March 31, consultant Paulien Nienhuis was approached to provide (process-based) support to the GGD Drenthe Crisis Organization, where she has been a regular visitor for various issues since 2012. The first assignment was to guide the team to greatly expand testing capacity for COVID-19 as of April 6. The minister had ordered this on March 30. The photo above shows street testing before going live.

A minimum of 100 COVID-19 tests per day.
All GGDs in the Netherlands are required to do a minimum of 100 COVID-19 tests per day as of April 6. Specifically, this soon means a tenfold increase in current capacity. Paulien worked with the project team to figure out a Corona test drive through, first set up in miniature with Playmobil and, after a test by April 6, 1 p.m., brought it live.
50 people were tested on the first day and this will be rapidly expanded in the coming days.
Further improvements in the trajectory
At the end of this week, the Corona test drive through will be handed over to the management organization. Meanwhile, Paulien has already begun follow-up work resulting from increased test-taking. Here you can think about supplies of personal protective equipment and test kits and conducting contact examinations (in case of positive results).
