Symbol’s Yellow Belt training courses introduce you to Lean principles and Six Sigma approaches. After attending these trainings, you will realize improvements in your own work environment and make valuable contributions to larger Lean or Six Sigma projects.
A Yellow Belt training course concludes with an internationally recognized LSSA certificate.
Lean and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belts are often responsible for improving operational performance within a particular department or line. This could include reducing lead times, solving problems or improving quality. Activities may be related to 5S, implement visual management techniques, contribute to the development of work processes and standards or they participate in brainstorming sessions. Therefore, after Yellow Belt training, you will know exactly how to handle and improve these types of tasks.
The Lean Yellow Belt is familiar with Lean principles, Lean techniques such as 5S and continuous improvement using the Kaizen approach (PDCA). The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is familiar with both the Lean principles and the Six Sigma approach. As a Yellow Belt, you will work independently to solve problems in your own work environment. The Yellow Belt also participates as a team member in larger Lean or Six Sigma projects.
If an organization decides to implement Lean Six Sigma company-wide, large groups of employees will often be trained at the Yellow Belt level to create a strong foundation. Yellow Belts have extensive experience with day-to-day processes and for that reason are well able to carry out Kaizen projects independently. The Yellow Belt is also a valuable team member within Green or Black Belt projects.
Basically, you follow the same training. The first day and a half is dedicated to the Lean Yellow Belt. The last half-day constitutes the upgrade to Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
In addition to our regular training courses, Symbol is now introducing full-fledged E-learning at the Yellow Belt level. The E-learning track is available in multiple languages. This online training can be taken and followed individually, but is also well suited to be used company-wide, for example in onboarding programs, to create a strong foundation for the continuous improvement organization.
The online Yellow Belt training consists of instructional videos, explanatory text, images, interactive exercises and questions. Upon completion, you can sit for the LSSA’s officially recognized Lean or Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt exam.

We do this by using a Lean game to let you experience for yourself the results of using the Lean principles. In industry training, we simulate an aircraft factory. For Services, we use an “Office game. Finally, when everyone’s eyes are opened, you are able to name what this means for your own work and work environment.

These trainings are mostly conducted in-company. This takes one or two concrete problems of the organization during the training as a starting point. In many cases, therefore, a third day is attached to the training. Contact us for options by calling 053-2030240 or using our contact form.
By default, all trainees receive a certificate of participation. In addition, we offer the opportunity to earn internationally recognized certification for both Lean Yellow Belt and Lean Six Sigma training. LSSA theory exams are administered in class and in writing at one of our locations (Amersfoort, Enschede). For larger groups, please contact us to take the exams in-company. All exams are available in both Dutch and English.
Registering for an LSSA theory exam is only possible if you hold an exam voucher. Don’t have an exam voucher yet? Then you can purchase it through the LSSA Webshop. After purchasing the voucher, you will receive the code by email. With that code, you can register for the theory exam.
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email. Did you not receive an email within 3 business days? Then contact info@lssa.eu.
Register for theory examAny employee directly or indirectly involved in process improvement or working more efficiently or for anyone within the organization to create a strong foundation for a company-wide implementation of Lean Six Sigma.
After Yellow Belt training, you will be familiar with Lean or Lean Six Sigma methodologies. You are able to effectively address problems in your own environment using simple Lean and Six Sigma tools. Consider workplace organization (5S), shortening lead times and solving quality problems. In addition, as a team member in a larger project, you can fully contribute because you know the language and approach.
The rule of thumb is that one class day requires about 8 hours of preparation and study afterwards. With that, the study load for the Lean Yellow belt is approximately 24 hours and for the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is approximately 32 hours.
Both to take the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training and to run your project, you will need Excel and a license of Minitab.
Symbol is a Minitab Gold partner. This is why we offer a free 6-month license worth 750 euros with the training.
This means that as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt student, you have a half-year license that provides access to all of Minitab’s functionalities.
Useful, for example, for implementing your Lean Six Sigma Black Belt project.
We arrange your license, you don’t have to do anything for this.
A number of downloads are used during Yellow Belt training. You can reach it via the button below.
