The FMEA is a risk analysis tool to identify possible failure modes and their effects. Creating a Process FMEA examines the consequences and impact of potential failure of a product or process. Thus, preventive or detective measures can be taken at an early stage to avoid failure or take the appropriate action. In an increasing number of industries, it is becoming a mandatory component when releasing new products or processes.

What is the content of the FMEA training?

This training covers the topics below, according to the 2019 AIAG and VDA Harmonization:

  • Application of FMEA within IATF 16949:2016.
  • Different types of FMEA: System FMEA, Design FMEA, FMEA MSR and Process FMEA
  • Relationship between the Process FMEA and the Design FMEA.
  • Understanding and applying the “7-step” approach
  • Assembling a team
  • Setting up a Process Flow Map
  • Setting up a Process FMEA
  • Guidelines for Assessment of Severity, Occurrence & Detection.
  • Review of the Action Priority Table (formerly Risk Priority Number or RPNs).
  • Root Cause Analysis: ‘Cause & Effect Matrix,’ ‘Failure Tree Analysis,’ and ‘5-Why’
  • Creation and implementation of a Control plan

For whom

Constructors and engineers responsible for process development and quality.

Objective

After this training you will be able to set up an FMEA according to the 2019 standard of AIAG and VDA. The course covers some commonly used methods for fault finding and troubleshooting. Finally, we create a Control plan (management plan).

Level

All levels.

Duration

1 day.

Study Load

Typically, one hour of class means one hour of study. Therefore, the total course load for this one-day course is approximately 16 hours.

Your investment

Participation in this FMEA training costs € 695,- p.p. Prices mentioned are excluding VAT.

Material

The training provides a training manual containing all presentations. Furthermore, you will receive an FMEA template.
